Sabre Triple Promotion!
At Sabre Grappling, dedication, perseverance, and passion for the art of grappling are at the core of our ethos. Each belt promotion represents a milestone in a grappler’s journey – a testament to their commitment and development on and off the mats. Today, we’re proud to recognise three of our teammates who have reached significant achievements in their training.
Ollie Millett: White Belt, 2 Stripes
Ollie has consistently impressed everyone at Sabre Grappling with his dedication to refining the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling. With this promotion to two stripes on his white belt, Ollie has shown not only technical growth but also an improved understanding of technique, control, and problem-solving on the mat.
Ollie’s progress is a result of his consistent attendance, willingness to drill the basics, and his ability to adapt under pressure during live rolls. His journey is just beginning, and we’re excited to see what’s next for him as he continues to grow as a grappler. Well done, Ollie!
Damian Al-Hajj: White Belt, 3 Stripes
Damian Al-Hajj’s promotion to three stripes on his white belt is a testament to his hard work and resilience. From day one, Damian has been a standout student, diving deep into the technical aspects of grappling while maintaining a positive attitude, no matter the challenge. Damian’s abilities have not been recognised to the level they so deserve, but after a conversation with Damian’s previous coach, who is a good friend of Sabre Grappling, an agreement was made to give him this recognition.
Earning three stripes requires not only technical proficiency but also a clear display of progression in live training and sparring. Damian has demonstrated improved timing, awareness, and the ability to apply concepts under pressure. As he edges closer to earning his blue belt, Damian’s passion for grappling is inspiring to all of us at the gym. Congratulations, Damian!
Rob Hewitt: Blue Belt
Reaching the rank of blue belt is a significant milestone in any grappler’s career, and today we celebrate Rob Hewitt’s promotion to this well-deserved level. Rob has been a cornerstone of the Sabre Grappling community, embodying the values of perseverance, humility, and a relentless drive to improve.
Over the past few months, Rob has shown mastery of the fundamentals, the ability to execute techniques across various positions, and a deeper understanding of strategy during sparring sessions. His leadership on the mats and his willingness to help newer students have made him an integral part of our team.
Rob’s promotion marks the transition from beginner to intermediate grappler – a challenge he is undoubtedly ready for. Congratulations, Rob, on this hard-earned achievement. The blue belt is a symbol of your dedication, and we look forward to seeing you grow even further in your journey.
Final Words
Belt promotions are more than just a change in rank – they reflect the hours of effort, the mental and physical challenges overcome, and the camaraderie built with teammates. At Sabre Grappling, we are honoured to share in these moments of achievement and are proud of Ollie, Damian, and Rob for their dedication and progress.
Let’s continue to support each other as we grow, learn, and evolve on the mats. See you in training!
