Sabre Grappler of the Month - September ‘24: Ollie Millet

This month, Sabre Grappling has launched a new initiative to recognise the talent and dedication that our grapplers bring to the club.

In line with our Sabre Values, grapplers are selected by Head Instructor Matt MacGuire on a monthly basis, founded on their representation and embodiment of the Sabre Grappling ethos and what we stand for.

Ollie Millet is our first ever Sabre Grappler of the Month - Congratulations Ollie!

Head Instructor Matt MacGuire has shared some of his own words on the achievement:

“Since joining Sabre, Ollie has focused on building a solid grappling gameplan.

He has worked hard to fully understand techniques and how they can work together in combination. He could rely on his physical strength, but instead he is completely focused on learning.

It is quite frightening being on the receiving end of Ollie's takedowns and he is building a dominant side control game using our triple threat system.

Ollie has already represented Sabre in competition. He came back with a silver medal and we are very proud.

Well done and thank you, Ollie. Keep up the good work!"
