What We Offer |

NO GI SABRE

Sabre Grappling’s most popular offering.

No Gi grappling is a fast-paced, submission-based, hybrid style of grappling drawn from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Luta Livre, and Wrestling. No Gi grappling is practised without the traditional kimono or “Gi.”

Our Sabre No Gi grappling programme is aligned with the notoriously effective Raspberry Ape system, developed by British grappling legend Dan Strauss and taught directly to Sabre Grappling’s accomplished head instructor, Matt MacGuire.

Suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, No Gi offers a practical, high-energy alternative for those looking to advance their ground game in a modern, athletic format.

GI SABRE

The foundations of Sabre Grappling.

Gi Grappling is a traditional form of grappling practised while wearing a kimono or “Gi.” Primarily drawn from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but in more recent years adapting techniques from Judo and Combat Sambo.

Developed as a technical adaptation of Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was forged on the mean streets of 1920’s Rio De Janeiro by the world-renowned Gracie family. Head instructor Matt MacGuire can trace his BJJ lineage directly back to the art’s inception.

Ideal for those seeking a deeper understanding of BJJ fundamentals, Gi training builds a strong foundation for self-defence, fitness and competition, offering a disciplined and technical approach to grappling. Suitable for all experience levels.

PRIVATE/SEMI-PRIVATE SABRE

Rapidly develop your Sabre Grappling.

Private (1-1) and Semi Private (1-2 or small group) sessions in Gi or No Gi offer personalised, focused training tailored to your specific goals and skill level.

With individualised instruction, you will receive detailed feedback, hands-on guidance, and the flexibility to focus on areas like submissions, escapes or competition preparation. Ideal for maximising learning in a supportive, results driven environment.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to build a strong foundation or an advanced practitioner seeking to refine your technique, these sessions provide the attention and customisation needed to rapidly accelerate your progress.
